For openers with green learn buttons. Newer openers (post-2005) with purple learn buttons need the 372LM instead — wrong frequency, won't pair. Older red learn-button openers use the 972LM.

Programming the 82LM

Sears Craftsman model numbers begin with "139." — find yours on the logic board on the back of your motor unit. The 82LM works with all 139.x models that have a green learn button.

  1. Press the green learn button on the back of the opener's motor unit. The indicator light stays on for 30 seconds.
  2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold one button on the 82LM until the motor light blinks twice.
  3. Repeat at each additional opener or use the second button for a second door.

To clear all paired remotes from an opener: hold the green learn button for ~6 seconds until the indicator goes out, then re-pair only the remotes you want to keep.
